CDEC was founded in 1993 by principles Michael E. Ferguson PE, President, and John Earl Ferguson, Vice President. The qualifying agent / license holder is John Earl Ferguson. Earl Ferguson formerly operated Ferguson Electrical Company (FECO) prior to the inception and incorporation of CDEC. Earl Ferguson has been in the electrical contracting trade for 40+ years. His work experience has focused on the commercial and industrial sectors of the trade. As of March 1, 2000 the ownership of CDEC, Inc. has been restructured with John Earl Ferguson as President with 100% ownership of all CDEC, Inc. stock.
CDEC was established out of the desire to provide our customers with Turnkey installations of commercial, industrial electrical, controls and instrumentation systems. Our long time customers indicated the need to work with a company that not only provided the installation of a system, but that had the resources and capabilities to design, program, start-up and maintain sophisticated industrial control systems. Many of the other firms in the electrical contracting business do not have the in-house technical capabilities that are needed when working with today's highly sophisticated computerized control and instrumentation systems. Firms that specialize in this type of work must have the technical resources and knowledge that are normally found only in the system's integration and engineering business. CDEC maintains a close working relationship with Kippro Engineering, Inc., which provides the control design and programming and R.O. Covington & Associates for the power distribution design needed to furnish and install a Turn-Key system.

CDEC has always specialized in the industrial and commercial areas of the electrical contracting business. We are not a company that focuses on the residential sector of the business. Typically, companies that focus on the residential sector of the trade do not possess the expertise and experience needed to effectively work in the heavy industrial and commercial sectors.
CDEC's Annual revenues for the company has exceeded $1,000,000+ per year since its inception and has grown to $3,500,000. The majority of our business is generated by working with long-time customers who have provided repeat business and word of mouth referrals. Contract projects range from small jobs involving Time & Materials service work to large installations exceeding $1,000,000. Our company as well as its predecessor has never been involved with any litigation, bond claims, bad credit, or other such problems. Our repeat business relationships that we have established with our customers over the years have been based on a satisfaction guaranteed policy. CDEC operates out of our corporate office in Lakeland, Florida. We also maintain a satellite office on the grounds of Florida's Natural Growers in Lake Wales, Florida. CDEC operates primarily in the west-central and southwest area of the state ranging from Tampa to Gainesville to Naples. Our staff is composed of between 15 to 20 full-time electricians and will increase dependent upon our work load. CDEC is a non-union contracting firm that has a very low turnover of employees.
